The Early Childhood Centre (ECC) offers a drop-in service for mothers wanting advice on things such as breast-feeding, immunisation, coping with a crying baby, your baby's growth and development, tips on playing with your child, introducing solids and other information associated with your baby's development.  They also arrange various courses and establish Mother's Groups. 

Following the birth of your baby you will be encouraged to call the ECC so that a home visit can be arranged. At this visit they will weigh your baby, do the 1-4 week development check and also provide support for the parents now they are at home with their new bub. 

Subsequent to the Birth and 1-4 week development check, the National Health and Medical Research Council recommends that at a minimum your baby is checked by a Health Professional at 6-8 weeks, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, 2 years, 3 years and 4 years.  The 6-8 week check onwards can be carried out at the ECC, just ring the contact number below to book an appointment.

There are also drop-in facilities if you need to speak to someone and you don't have an appointment.  There are scales to weigh your baby at any time, a change room and a feeding room if you're stuck and close by.
